TAKE ACTION FOR WOLVES (ALL CONTACTS HERE)
“We listened for a voice crying in the wilderness. And we heard the jubilation of wolves!” -Durwood L. Allen
Wolves form packs with the exception of the Lone Wolf. The Lone Wolf is usually the lowest ranking wolf basically driven from the pack and will sometimes find a mate and form their own pack. The alphas have the freedom to choose first on where to go and when to do something. Each wolf below the alphas has their own role in the pack; with the omega being the lowest. Sometimes there are beta wolves, in the larger packs; they are second down from the alphas. The beta wolves dominate all the wolves with the exception of the alphas. Rank in the pack isn't determined by size; it is determined and maintained more by confidence and strength, dominance.
Wolves not only communicate by howling, they also communicate by expressions of their face, ears, mouth and body language. Wolves have an excellent sense of smell and can smell their prey up to 2 miles away and also use to communicate.
Wolves have 42 teeth: incisors, canines, premolars and molars. The canines (4), lengths up to 2 inches in length which are functional equivalent of talons and permit the Wolf to pierce through tough hides and thick hair and hang on.
