Norfolk Eagles
The cam was taken down and they destroyed the Eagle nest and every time the male Eagle tries to rebuild they destroy the home he is trying to make.

I am finally able to update this page, but as I am typing the tears are flowing. Mom Eagle was struck and killed by a jet at the Norfolk airport April 26, 2011. As a result from the horrible tragedy , wildlife decided it was in the best interest of the Eaglets to be taken down from the nest and raised at the Wildlife Center in Virginia until they are ready to fledge. Dad Eagle did come back to the nest after mom was killed with a fish and fed the chicks, but the decision to take them was because it would have been very hard on the male to provide the food , feed them and himself plus keep them safe. After the chicks were taken down from the nest, the dad came back again with another fish and just looked around looking lost. The chicks are being well cared for and there are many sights of dad still in the gardens. Our hope is he finds a new mate for next nesting season.
Personal notes: This was the hardest Eagle loss I've ever experienced. The pain of dad Eagle losing his mate of 8 years, then losing his 3 babies was hard to take and honestly, I still cry as I am now. Mom Eagle will be in my heart forever as well as the beautiful memories Mom and Dad brought me for 4 years.
