Two Harbors, Catalina Island
Sadly this pair lost the first egg. The second chick hatched and was thriving until the day the Mom disappeard. She did not return to the nest that evening and neither did the Dad. K81/male and K82/female. A fox came into the nest and dragged the chick out. Although the little Braveheart tried to fight off the fox, he lost his battle. The mom did return finally the next day after a long wait only to find her chick gone. Dad appeared very happy to see her. The video shows the fox taking the chick. Watch at your own risk. RIP Braveheart.

Eagle cam is no longer active due to the government's decision to destroy the nest and will not allow Eagles to thrive in their home they had for 9 years.
